How to Get a High Score
Puppy through Best in Show
Puppy gives you 60 seconds at a gentle drop rate — the right place to learn the controls. Adult keeps the 60 seconds but drops faster and throws more boots.
From Expert onward the difficulty changes in kind rather than just in speed. Expert adds a crosswind that pushes falling items sideways and reverses every few seconds, and shrinks your catch area. Champion pushes the wind harder and cuts the basket down again. Best in Show runs 90 seconds and speeds up the entire time — it is designed to end in a loss, so your score is how long you kept it together.
Each level keeps its own leaderboard, so a Best in Show run is never competing against a Puppy one.
Where the points actually come from
- Bone — 10 points, the bread and butter.
- Heart — 25 points, worth going out of your way for.
- Star — doubles everything for 8 seconds. Catch one and then go hunting.
- Boot — costs you a life. You only get three.
The combo multiplier is where big scores come from. Every four clean catches raises it by one, and it resets the moment you drop a bone or catch a boot. Puppy caps it at ×2; Best in Show goes to ×6. A heart caught at ×6 with a star active is worth 300 points on its own.
Catch five scoring items in a row and you also pick up a 20-point streak bonus.
Mouse, touch or keyboard
Move with the mouse, drag with a finger on a phone, or use the left and right arrow keys once the game area has focus. The keyboard route means the game is playable without a pointing device.
If your system is set to reduce motion, everything falls more slowly — the game stays playable rather than disappearing.
First name and last initial only
Scores are saved on this website, not to any third-party service. You enter a first name and a last initial — that is all that is stored alongside your score and level, and it is all that anyone else sees.
The top ten for each level are shown. Scores are checked for plausibility on the way in, so a run that could not have happened in the time available will not be saved.
